Australia’s Biggest Week in Design is Here

Good Design Week brings together Australia’s design community for five days of announcements, recognition and celebration, culminating in the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards Ceremony at ICC Sydney on Friday evening.

Throughout the week, we will reveal the recipients of the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards across more than 30 categories and celebrate the people, teams and projects demonstrating the power of design to shape a better future.

From products, architecture and digital experiences to services, systems, policy and social impact, this year’s recipients represent the breadth, ambition and transformative potential of contemporary design.

Each announcement marks a new chapter in the 2026 Awards, building towards Friday evening when the year’s highest honours will be revealed, including the Good Design Award for Sustainability and the coveted Australian Good Design Award of the Year.

A Week of Awards Recognition

The Australian Good Design Awards recognise projects at multiple levels of distinction, reflecting their performance against the Awards’ three core evaluation criteria: Good Design, Design Innovation and Design Impact.

Australian Good Design Award Winner recipients demonstrate excellence in professional design practice.

Australian Good Design Award Gold Winner recipients represent outstanding achievement and set a benchmark for design excellence within their category.

Australian Good Design Award Best in Class recipients are recognised as the leading projects in their respective sub-categories.

The week will culminate in the announcement of the Australian Good Design Award Best in Discipline recipients, Special Accolades, the Australian Good Design Award for Sustainability and, Australia’s highest design honour, the Australian Good Design Award of the Year.

Good Design Week 2026

Monday 5 October – Welcome to Good Design Week

We begin a landmark week of announcements and celebration, highlighting the ideas, people and projects shaping the future through design.

Tuesday 6 October – Australian Good Design Award Winners announced

The first recipients of the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards will be revealed across the Good Design Australia website and social channels.

Wednesday 7 October – Australian Good Design Award Gold Winners announced

We celebrate the projects recognised for outstanding design achievement and their contribution to advancing their industries and communities.

Thursday 8 October – Australian Good Design Award Best in Class Winners announced

The leading projects in each sub-category will be unveiled, representing the highest-performing entries across the 2026 Awards.

Friday 9 October (AM) – Selected Special Accolades announced

The first of this year’s Special Accolades will be revealed, recognising exceptional people, teams and contributions to Australia’s design landscape.

Friday 9 October (6PM) – 2026 Australian Good Design Awards Ceremony

Good Design Week reaches its finale at ICC Sydney, where the design community will come together for the announcement of the year’s highest honours:
