  • MORE
  • In response to the growing impact of climate change, Tesla believes the faster the world stops relying on fossil fuels and moves towards a zero-emission future, the better. The goal for Model 3 was to make an affordable, high volume electric vehicle (EV) that doesn’t compromise on range, performance or technology. Model 3 has made electric cars accessible to more people, ultimately accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable transportation.

  • One of the original ideas was for Model 3 to be 5% smaller and much more affordable. Through numerous exterior, interior and technological improvements, Tesla made Model 3 smaller and more attainable but equally a more mature and proficient vehicle. Many design attributes were simplified like moving to stalkless controls and redesigning the wheel covers to deliver a more efficient vehicle, at a lower cost. There’s more refinement, comfort and performance, while staying true to its sleek, uncluttered design. Model 3 is instantly recognisable with a refined body and presence, better aerodynamics, new lighting and a brand-new interior.

  • When Model 3 first launched, it represented a turning point in the automotive industry as an affordable EV that is accessible to the masses. Model 3 continues to play a pivotal role in encouraging mass adoption of EVs and combats the common misconceptions that surround driving an EV. Model 3 offers a sustainable alternative to petrol vehicles to reduce the negative impact they have on the environment, public health and air pollution.

  • Model 3 Rear Wheel Drive has a range of up to 513km (WLTP) and a high-efficiency powertrain that provides zero to 100 km/h acceleration in 6.1 seconds. Tesla listens to their customers feedback across all aspects of their products. Tesla made Model 3 quieter, more efficient, improved the ride comfort without sacrificing the handling and while improving interior and exterior styling. Compared to other manufactures, Tesla has designed the tyres and wheel covers to reduce the overall profile of the tyre. Millimetre changes to the tyre profile dramatically increase vehicle efficiency by allowing air to move around the wheel at a quicker speed. The new tyre design also helps to increase range. The tyres have a lower rolling resistance coefficient than any other Model 3 tyre. This was done without compromising lateral performance or steering response - an exceptionally hard task to complete. Tesla achieved grip which occurs over low frequency versus rolling resistance being low at a higher frequency by changing the compound of the tyre. Changing the compound to increase grip while decreasing rolling resistance.
