Feira Preta is the biggest event of Black culture in Latin America. From its start 16 years ago as a fair, the event grew into a three-day festival, a celebratory space where material and symbolic goods are exchanged, roots are preserved & knowledge is transferred from one generation to the next.

  • Crucially, the festival strengthens and enhances the Brazilian Black identity — an essential part of the country’s cultural identity, manifested in its music, dance, art, fashion, sports, and business. In May 2024, Doritos partnered with Feira Preta to support the celebration and spotlight its important mission.

  • More than 54% of Brazilians identify as Black — a recent increase due in large part to new opportunities for Black people to recognize themselves. As part of our global diversity and inclusion platform, Doritos wanted to help amplify the voices that often go unheard, ensuring bold voices are given the opportunity to create positive change. To honor this vision, we selected three artists who are also members of Preta Comics, an initiative from the Feira Preta Institute that promotes local Black artists. Showcasing three different perspectives, their lively illustrations take inspiration from the vibrant elements of Brazilian Black history.
