Designed by the Brisbane based design team, the A-city 25kV EMU is a combination of organic styling and clean edges. The key inspiration was Adelaide’s rolling green hills that surround the city and the old 2000 class fleet of DMUs, affectionately known to locals as the ‘jumbos’. Smooth lines and body contours display a timeless elegance. The A-city interior has been designed with meticulous attention to detail creating a functional and stylish product.

  • CHALLENGE

  • The front is sporty with aggressive light clusters leading to the windows, creating a unique character. These visual features and the new Adelaide livery display speed and provide familiarity to the public. The interior design was inspired by Adelaide's natural surroundings, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The visibility both inside and out creates a feeling of space and comfort. The smooth and essential shape of handrails and seat-mounted hand guards offer enhanced support and safety for standing passengers.
