The large SUV interprets characteristic design features of the Q family, such as the sculpted Singleframe grille. Audi also has a reputation for setting standards when it comes to innovative operating concept. The virtual cockpit is on board - a TFT screen with a high-resolution, displaying all of the necessary information.The new MMI all-in-touch control unit with large touchpad makes operation child's play. The voice control of the MMI navigation plus is also state of the art. It understands countless formulations and allows dictation of text messages, aiding navigation commands and is also available in the Radio and Media menus.

A highlight is the graduated range of driver assistance systems. No production car currently offers more in this area of technology. The adaptive cruise control (ACC) with traffic jam assist relieves the chore of driving in slow-moving traffic roads in good condition. It uses the radar sensors and the video camera for guiding the car through gentle steering interventions. It keeps the Audi Q7 at a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. The Audi pre sense front safety system is also on board. The system prompts the driver to apply the brake according to a complex warning concept with visual and acoustic signals and a braking jolt. The Audi Q7 has been awarded a 5-star ANCAP safety rating.

When it comes to lightweight construction, the Audi Q7 is a benchmark in the large SUV segment. 10 years of experience flow into the new Q7. Thanks to the strict lightweight concept from Audi, the basic version of the new Q7 remains less than two tonnes unladed - up to 240 kilograms lighter than the previous model, depending on the engine version. The body contributes to this advancement: Its innovative multi-material construction saves 71 kg in weight. The doors, which like the complete outer shell are made of aluminium, contribute an additional saving of 24 kilograms. Engineers have exploited large weight-saving potential in chassis - 27 kilograms at the front and 40 kilograms at the rear suspension.

Thanks to its high fuel efficiency, much of which comes from its low weight, the new Audi Q7 also presents a good environmental balance sheet. The second generation of the prestigious SUV impresses with efficient engines that make it the CO2 champion of its class. The lighter Q7 reduces CO2 emission by as much as 50 grams per kilometres. The computational consideration of its life cycle - from obtainment of raw materials through production to recycling after 200,000 km - yields a total CO2 equivalent of 16 percent below the value of the predecessor model. Soon, the Audi Q7 3.0 TDI e-tron quattro will be launched - it combines an efficient plug-in hybrid drive with quattro permanent all-wheel drive.

The all-new Audi Q7 features a long list of advanced technology. It comes with a fascinating drive system, suspension system, assistance systems, infotainment and connectivity with innovative technology. Yet with all these features, the second-generation Q7 is competitively priced in its segment. Since the first customer deliveries in September last year, the model has driven further growth in the large premium luxury SUV class. The new range starts at $ 96,300.

For many years, Audi has been renowned for establishing new milestones in sound quality. The latest technology, 3D sound, made its debut in the Audi Q7. Audi developed it for the Bang & Olufsen system in partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute. The system uses a complex algorithm that calculates the control signals in each speaker, breaking down the data into spatial components. They are then adjusted to recreate the way sound resonates around the room in which it was recorded. The second stage of the process involves reassembling the sound portions so that the sound pattern inside the car corresponds to the original recording room. For this purpose, it actuates 11 channels with a total of 23 speakers.
