Typically, payment terminals are bulky, impersonal, and both stylistically and functionally outdated. They're often cable-tethered, offer only basic functionality, regularly drop connection limiting payment acceptance, and consume paper costing businesses and the environment. Having pioneered Australia's first full-screen mobile payment terminal in 2021, Zeller was uniquely positioned to hear merchant feedback to inform Zeller Terminal 2's design. A full-screen payment terminal design must seamlessly incorporate security and accessibility across hardware and software. It must be portable, fast, and easy to use; be durable enough to operate in busy environments (e.g. pubs); and beautiful enough for premium venues.

Zeller Terminal 2 is a simple, elegant terminal combining cutting-edge functionality including paperless receipts, a built-in point-of-sale system, Wi-Fi and SIM card connectivity, useful accessories, and ergonomic handling. Merchants can spend significant thought and money presenting a cohesive brand to their customers at every point of the customer journey (from shopfront design to visual merchandising), and the Zeller design studio's belief is that by delivering a payment terminal that complement and enhances the merchant's aesthetic and brand, that the crucial moment of payment acceptance and checkout can become a more beautiful experience for buyer and seller.

Zeller Terminal 2 features refined industrial design with a comfortable, ergonomic form, in select black, white, and graphite finishes complementing different environments, and both handheld or countertop use. Zeller Terminal 2 includes the free, intuitive Zeller POS Lite system, streamlining item sales, tracking, and receipts directly on the device enabling merchants to reduce cost and management of multiple software systems. Ir can also be integrated with over 600 third-party POS systems. A large, 6.5-inch full-colour HD touchscreen facilitates complex interactions, while the innovative rear logo light can be programmed with custom colours and sequences, offering visual feedback or brand personalisation. In addition, Zeller Terminal 2 offers unique customisation such as light and dark screen modes, and the ability to upload a logo or custom screensaver to the device screen when in "sleep" mode for added promotion. All receipts are paperless and delivered via email, SMS, or downloadable via QR code, removing the need for paper, a printer, and consumables. Wi-Fi, SIM, and wired ethernet connectivity; contactless and EMV chip reading; and robust physical security are all included in the design.
