xLocker2

The design brief for xLocker2 emphasised commonality of components, modularity and efficacy of the delivery process. The challenge was to design a personal storage system that can be customised to different contexts within the workplace and contribute to the visual aesthetics within the built environment. The design must provide personal storage for mobile workers and businesses including end of journey and allow for a range of locking technologies including electronic keypads to fully hardwired and networked RFID systems. The design must offer designers choice in modularity, streamline onsite assembly by reducing material waste and time in assembly.

xLocker 2 provides real design diversity by offering reconfigurable steel modules that connect together creating design harmonisation for every application, including device charging options. The patented design allows for data and power reticulation and joining of dissimilar height and width units to create role-specific locker banks and spatial differentiation within the project. By providing designers with an extended colour palette and wide variety of standard perforations, xLocker2 creates options for customisation in extensive corporate fitouts, while still remaining compatible with elegant boutique interiors.

xLocker2 makes a lasting impact within the workplace environment. xLocker2 has been awarded platinum certification by Furntech AFRDI (cert # 14464/1). This is a GBCA level A grade certification enabling designers to comply with Green Star® credit requirements. It has been awarded the Furntech Blue Tick certification for strength durability and stability (cert # 12735/1). xLocker2 with Linea-patterned doors meets the acoustic demands of today’s open plan spaces by absorbing noise tested by CSIRO to AS ISO 354-2006. The steel lockers have zero-VOC emissions. Streamlined fabrication and future-proof design for dis-assembly and re-use benefits the environment and ensures product longevity.
