UBCO EV Platform

The development of UBCO's EV Platform is driven by both the needs of customers using our earlier generation products and our own sustainability considerations. It is the embodiment of all of our learning over a 5-year period of operating vehicles around the globe. It is also informed by the projected needs of emerging enterprise fleet applications across agriculture, delivery and last mile, tourism, conservation and defence. This led to four key design objectives: improve quality, performance and feel; extend durability, producibility and maintenance; enhance control and security; and expand the utility of the vehicle power supply.

The 2X2 Work and Adventure bikes are both tougher than ever, with improved torque, power, and traction. We've increased range by 10%, energy density by 20%, and battery lifecycle performance by 30%. With increased efficiency and thermal balance the motors climb better for longer. The redesigned assembly improves weather resistance and disassembly. The bike and battery are part of an integrated technology stack including vehicle hardware and electronics, firmware, and cloud infrastructure. The multiplatform rider app and proprietary software fleet portal enable UBCO's innovative subscription model. Customers subscribe to a vehicle rather than buy it outright.

UBCO's EV Platform delivers into a clearly identified market gap where utility and all-terrain performance are key. We've designed the world's toughest utility bike, that is effortless to ride, versatile, safe and sustainable. No gas, no emissions, no noise. The platform design enables vehicle subscription and fleet management which opens the door for large scale enterprise fleet deployment. It also improves sustainability outcomes, increasing vehicle lifespan 4x and producing 80% less carbon compared to a typical combustion engine scooter use life. The product is designed for long life and disassembly and UBCO is putting in place a product stewardship programme.

Every change made to the product is the result of a learning-first approach to testing and validation, involving engineering, analysis, real-world and laboratory testing. The 2021 EV Platform introduces two new bike models plus portable power. Customers can choose their bike, the capacity of their power supply (battery), and the additional power console if they want portable power, creating a complete product platform. The 2X2 Work Bike is clean and simple. Built for off-road riding (no rego needed). With no on-road extras, this is a solid mud-ready workhorse. Ruggedized and weatherproof for heavy-duty conditions. The 2X2 Adventure Bike is homologated globally for use on- and off-road. Perfect for the urban commuter who dislikes traffic jams and the weekend adventurer who enjoys the sounds of nature. With an IP66 rating, the KXH Power Supply is fully waterproof and dustproof. Available in two capacities for powering the bikes or as a portable power solution, the rugged construction and enhanced performance lead the market.
