The Torquay is the culmination of a four-year evolution, from fixed-cover sectional sofas in 2021 to launching the first modular design in 2024 (the Bangalow Modular Sofa), which set the bar for the Torquay. The team solved the modularity pain point by developing Koala-exclusive Quick-Connect slot-in connectors, replacing clunky off-the-shelf hardware with a tool-free assembly experience intuitive for anyone.Achieving the signature comfort required dozens of prototyped recipes, ultimately landing on a combination of memory foam, fibre and S-springs that balances immediate cosiness with long-term support.
