  • Snack manufacturers are caught in a tightening squeeze: skilled labour shortages, rapid SKU proliferation & a shift toward high‑velocity, single‑serve formats. While TNA’s Robag platform defined performance standards for decades through robust, precision engineering trusted by specialists worldwide, Quantum builds on this legacy by elevating simplicity, scalability & modern usability to meet today’s operational demands. Not incremental improvement - the brief was to re‑architect speed, usability & identity in one move. Quantum had to deliver up to 300 bags per minute, remain hygienic, serviceable & simplify daily operation. The challenge - translate ambition into a machine that felt simple & unmistakably the flagship for TNA’s next generation.

  • Quantum rethinks the system end-to-end in a single pass. Early customer discovery defined the brief around labour constraints, operational complexity, output targets & smaller pack formats. Capgemini led discovery, concept and mechanical and UX definition, with TNA’s internal teams delivering detailed engineering, validation & production. Manual mechanical adjustment was replaced with a fully automatic, operator‑proof setup in which the machine self‑calibrates to the commanded output. Capacity was increased by maximising throughput per tube, up to 300 bpm, rather than adding machines. Form factor, CMF, mechanical & optimised HMI were balanced to create a jewel‑like production system that is high performance, hygienic, robust & serviceable.

  • The tna robag® Quantum enables manufacturers to achieve higher production volumes with fewer machines by significantly increasing output per tube. This reduces capital intensity, factory footprint & line complexity while improving overall equipment effectiveness. Automated setup and simplified operation reduce dependence on skilled labour, shorten training time and improve reliability in high‑turnover environments. Reduced product and film waste, fewer auxiliary systems & more efficient use of energy support lower operational waste and resource use. By making high‑speed packaging easier to operate and more adaptable to frequent product changeovers and smaller pack formats, Quantum strengthens manufacturing resilience under ongoing cost, labour & sustainability pressures.

  • The tna robag® Quantum is defined by a clear shift from mechanically adjusted packaging equipment to fully automated, outcome‑led operation. Manual knobs, side adjustments & setup dependencies have been removed. Operators specify the required pack result, the machine automatically configures itself, reducing variability, training time & reliance on specialist labour.Quantum is engineered to deliver very high output per tube, reaching up to 300 bags per minute depending on application. This approach allows manufacturers to increase capacity without multiplying machines, simplifying line layouts, reducing footprint, lowering associated maintenance, cleaning & energy requirements. It is particularly suited to smaller bag sizes, multipacks and high‑frequency changeover environments. The system is protected by nine patents that collectively address film handling, changeover efficiency, waste reduction and repeatable pack quality at sustained high speeds. These innovations support higher overall equipment effectiveness while reducing product and film waste.Designed as part of a complete production line, robag® Quantum integrates seamlessly with tna distribution, seasoning and digital systems, enabling coordinated control and clearer performance insight across the line. A modern, simplified HMI and refined design improve day‑to‑day usability, service access & operator confidence. These decisions move TNA from engineer-built equipment to design-led mechatronics, raising performance and resilience under modern manufacturing constraints.
