The collection is intended to invoke a certain sense of nostalgia being reminiscent of the decorative modernism once seen frequently on Australia's more glamourous patios and terraces. This nostalgic approach pays respect to ongoing fascination of modernist design while at the same time being completely new and contemporary in its appeal. The wire framed silhouettes and elegant overall form of the collection are beautifully resolved with a high attention to detail.

It was important for us to develop a product that was suitable for the Australian conditions, our product is in some ways over engineered for its intended use. We have much past experience with outdoor furniture that didn't last and we wanted to make sure our collection was fit for purpose. To this end we used a special multi-step process to protect the product from environmental degradation and corrosion. As a point of reference, we tested our collection using standards from the automotive industry and achieved a result that was +1500 hours in a special salt mist test compared to most automotive manufacturers who aim for around 800 hours. Our product is comfortable, functional and long lasting.

We have achieved level 2 Commercial certification from the international testing laboratory CATAS. These tests are designed to confirm the overall strength, durability and the safety for the end user.

Our approach to sustainability is to focus both on the longevity of the product, the materials and processes used in manufacturing. By creating a product that has a longer lifecycle we automatically reduce our environmental impact considerably. We have used FSC certified ACCOYA timber which has an exceptional lifespan and is sustainable in both its harvesting and the production process. The furniture components are easily disassembled meaning at the end of life, the recyclable components such as the steel frames can be easily recycled. All packaging is also FSC certified.

Combining original Australian design and creative brand development, with the quality manufacturing associated with “Made in Italy” and our commitment to rigorous product testing has resulted in a best quality outcome for the SP01 outdoor collection.

Developing a collection that arrives to market at the right price point and being represented by one of Australia's leading design retailers Space Furniture has ensured good commercial enquiry and promising sales in a limited period of time. Launching the collection has significantly grown our awareness internationally and locally and enabled us to engage agents in the USA and Europe. We forecast to make a ROI by year 2.
