This range was developed in response to Breville's desire to create products that bring premium aesthetics, user experience and food results to a category not normally associated with these qualities. The purpose of these products is to change the perception of microwaves in the mind of the user. Traditional microwaves are intimidating, hard to understand and often lead to poor food results. Breville has focused on ease of use giving consumers a simpler way to achieve premium food results. The cooking experience is also more engaging through improving key touch points such as the soft close door.

To overcome the design challenge, Breville focused on the consumer to identify and solve pain points common to owning and operating a microwave. Teams based in Australia, North America, Europe and Asia collaborated to ensure the machines catered for the needs of users globally. Prioritising the products ability to deliver premium food results in a quick, convenient and quiet manner is made possible by LCD screens coupled with intuitive UI. This gives access to pre-sets, appliance modes and features not available on other microwaves. The operation and durability of this range was highly considered to maximize the product offering.

The Combi Wave 3 in 1 and Smooth Wave microwave range are the first to feature soft closing doors. The operation noise has been significantly reduced through more efficient electronics and cooling systems. A unique suite of alert tones replaces traditional beeps meaning using these appliances is more pleasant. The Combi Wave 3 in 1 combines the functionality of a microwave, convection oven and an Air Fryer into one. This frees up bench space. Preset cooking, reheating and defrost programs provide a range of popular methods for the user to achieve great food results. The Fast Combi function utilises 3 heating technologies to cook food faster. The Cook from Frozen function gives the convenience of taking frozen proteins through to a cooked meal in a single time-saving function. The European model offers a multi-language capable interface to cater to users' needs globally. The Smooth Wave enhances the experience of using a microwave. Humidity sensors are combined with smart algorithms to automatically adjust power and time to suit the specified food type. Inverter technology ensures that the wattage output is accurately controlled. This means that cooking, reheating and defrosting is as precise and as simple as possible.
