  • 1.5 million Australians own a soundbar[2], likely placed horizontally on a tabletop. Common soundbars feature front-firing and upwards-firing speakers to achieve a surround-sound effect. The advent of ultra-thin TVs is increasing consumers’ desire to wall-mount both their TV and soundbar. Mounting a wide soundbar next to a thin TV can be an eyesore. Flipping the orientation of the soundbar to sit flush against a wall means the directional speakers fire the wrong way diminishing the sound experience. Samsung wanted to create a soundbar that would produce the same output despite orientation offering consumers choice.

  • To bring a ‘convertible fit’ vision to life, Samsung needed to develop a gyro-sensor that could detect the soundbar’s orientation and automatically allocate the direction of its 3.1.2 channels’ sound direction (front and up-firing) accordingly. That means, when the soundbar is mounted flush to the wall, the gyro-sensor needed to re-allocate the up-firing audio to the channels now facing front-wards. The front-firing audio needed to re-allocate to the channels now facing up-wards. The soundbar needed to recognise the orientation in real time and continue supporting Wireless Dolby Atmos[1] and Q-Symphony[3] to meet consumer expectations of premium surround sound.

  • Samsung has set a new standard in audio design and innovation. The soundbar consistently delivers Dolby Atmos[1] and Q-Symphony[3] completely wirelessly and includes intelligent features such as SpaceFit Sound Pro[4], Adaptive Sound[4], and Game Pro Mode[5], enabling the soundbar to analyse content and viewing environments in real time and optimise sound, volume and clarity for an immersive experience. It delivers these experiences consistently regardless of its orientation; on a table horizontally or mounted flush to a wall. The result provides Australians with versatile installation options and advanced audio features that cater to diverse user needs.

  • The Samsung Q Series HW-QS700F soundbar stands out with its innovative convertible design, offering versatility and superior audio quality. 1.Convertible fit: The soundbar can be mounted flush on a wall or placed on a tabletop, adapting to various room layouts without compromising sound quality. Its integrated gyro-sensor detects its position and optimises the audio output accordingly. 2.True 3.1.2 channel sound: Equipped with three front channels, one subwoofer channel, and two up-firing channels, the soundbar delivers a cinematic audio experience, immersing users in rich, multidimensional sound. 3.Wireless Dolby Atmos[1]: This feature provides a more immersive sound experience by transmitting Dolby Atmos audio wirelessly , eliminating the need for HDMI cables and ensuring a clean setup. 4.Q-Symphony[3]: When paired with compatible Samsung TVs, the soundbar and TV speakers work together to create a harmonious surround sound experience, enhancing overall audio clarity and depth. 5.Compact subwoofer: The new, smaller subwoofer[7] blends discreetly into any home environment while delivering powerful bass, ensuring a balanced audio performance. These features highlight the soundbar's adaptability, advanced technology, and commitment to providing an exceptional home entertainment experience.
