Pro Dome is a non-electric indoor culinary smoke finishing device designed to apply smoke as a flavour-finishing step rather than a cooking process. Designed for domestic kitchens and hospitality settings, it enables controlled smoke infusion for food and drinks while prioritising safety, visibility and simplicity.

  • Traditional smoking tools are designed for outdoor cooking and introduce heat, uncontrolled smoke output and supervision risks when used indoors. Electronic indoor smokers attempted to solve this but often created new problems including smoke leakage, alarm activation, motor failures and cleaning complexity. The design challenge was to create a safe, predictable way to apply smoke indoors without introducing technological complexity or heat escalation, while maintaining precise flavour control and suitability for domestic environments where supervision, reliability and ease of use are critical.

  • Pro Dome reframes smoke as a flavour-finishing technique applied briefly at the point of serving rather than as a cooking method. The design removes electronics entirely, using a controlled combustion chimney and transparent borosilicate glass enclosure to contain and visually regulate smoke density. A separated base plate moderates heat and isolates ignition from the enclosure. This mechanical simplicity allows smoke to be applied for seconds with predictable results while preventing temperature rise in finished dishes. Transparency encourages supervised use and enables users to precisely control flavour intensity.

  • Pro Dome improves the safety and accessibility of smoke-based flavouring in domestic and hospitality environments. By eliminating electronics and heat escalation, it reduces smoke leakage, alarm activation and appliance failure points commonly associated with indoor smokers. Durable materials including borosilicate glass and stainless steel support longevity, repairability and reduced electronic waste. The product enables chefs and home cooks to integrate smoke as a controlled finishing technique while providing visual theatre at the point of service. Through behavioural insight and design restraint, Pro Dome demonstrates how simplicity can improve safety, reliability and everyday usability.

  • Key design features centre on transparency, safety and mechanical simplicity.• Transparent borosilicate glass enclosure enabling real-time observation of smoke density and controlled release.• Non-electric design eliminating motors, filters and electronics that commonly fail in indoor smokers.• Isolated combustion chimney that contains ignition while separating heat from the enclosure.• Base plate heat moderation preventing temperature escalation inside the dome.• Food-grade stainless steel components for durability, hygiene and long-term use.• Mechanically assembled construction supporting cleaning, repairability and reliable manufacturing.• Controlled finishing workflow enabling smoke to be applied precisely at the point of plating or drink preparation.• Fully washable components suitable for regular domestic dishwashing.Together these features establish a predictable and safe indoor smoking environment while supporting both culinary function and presentation.
