The all-new 308 is a quantum leap in terms of quality which is equivalent to the progress usually made over 2 or 3 generations of a vehicle.

Peugeot accomplished this feat by focusing on quality, duarabillity, reliability and design.

Special attention was paid to the perceived quality with upmarket finishes and precision in the fit & finish to create a real feel of quality when using the car.

On 3 March 2014, these efforts were recognized when the Peugeot 308 was crowned with the prestigious title of 2014 “Car of the Year”, awarded by a jury of 58 journalists representing 22 European countries.

  • “Simplicity is supreme sophistication” This saying by Leonardo de Vinci summarises the spirit that has guided the design of the car, from the first drawing through to production car. The strategy of the All-New 308 was to create a clear break from its predecessor with the following strategies adopted: • An irreproachable level of quality and modern technology, which illustrates the excellence of PEUGEOT • A unique driving position the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit which feeds excellence and emotion • A refined and emotional design, with an efficient, compact and solid architecture. Presented first at the Frankfurt Motor Show and launched at the end of September 2013 in France and Germany, the new PEUGEOT 308 produced at the Sochaux factory embodies the brand's values of excellence in terms of its design, (elegant and dynamic) efficiency (based on an advanced approach to weight reduction using the new EMP2 platform) and driving experience with its innovative instruments and controls (the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit).

  • Efficiency isn't just a measure of fuel economy - it's about space, weight, fuel use and user interaction. The all-new Peugeot 308 has been designed to improve on all these measures, from its ground-breaking modular platform that saves 140kg, to its PureTech 1.2litre three cylindar drivetrain and its simplistic yet functional cockpit design, the 308 has been designed with efficiency in mind. When combined, these features result in a vehicle that is easier to use, cheaper to run and more enjoyable to own.

  • Design where dynamic efficiency and aesthetics are one and create contemporary elegance that is chic and sporty.Exterior DesignThe exterior of the new 308 is a pure and sleek deign which departs from the semi-high architecture of the previous generation with strong light signatures and bodywork which closely follows the mechanical components.A focus on high-quality materials and finishes was central to the overall design.Interior DesignExclusive to PEUGEOT, the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® was first seen on the 208 and is now on the all-new 308. The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® is a unique grouping of the vehicles instruments and controls which is made up of a reduced diameter steering wheel, head-up instruments, touch screen controls and a tall centre console. It is designed for a sensuous and intuitive driving experience but also backs upi design with functional intent.By placing the instrument higher, the driver can always sight the instruments at a glance - reducing time spent looking away from the road.

  • The all-new 308 is a quantum leap in terms of quality which is equivalent to the progress usually made over 2 or 3 generations of a vehicle. PEUGEOT accomplished this amazing feat by conducting over four million kilometres of testing with 1,000 professional and non-professional drivers using over 200 prototypes. Special attention was paid to the perceived quality with upmarket finishes and precision in the fit & finish to create a real feel of quality when using the car.

Technology that enhances the ownership experience was at the heart of the all-new 308.Dominating the high quality cabin is a 9.7'' Touch screen owes its name to the size of the touch screen which is 9.7'' diagonally. It includes a 7'' screen and shortcut buttons which strengthen the intuitive character. These buttons are virtual and visible only when the screen is on. The 9.7-inch touchscreen has seven buttons which quickly bring up the controls for all the in-car functions: climate control, driving aids, media, navigation, configuration, telephone and PEUGEOT Apps The customer is able to customize the touchscreen by choosing from two themes or display their own photographs using a USB. The USB can also be used to store music on the 6.9GB Jukebox on Allure Premium and GT models.

Blind Spot MonitoringThe Blind Sport Monitoring system detects a vehicle in the driver's blind spot and alerts the driver using an orange diode in the wing mirror. Adaptive Cruise ControlMaintains the speed of the vehicle and adjusts it automatically according to the speed of the vehicle in front (up to 100m). Emergency Collision AlertThis system warns the driver when there is a risk of collision. If the vehicle is too close to the vehicle in front the anti-collision warning will alert the driver depending on the risk level, first visual then with an audible warning.Emergency Collision Braking When the system detects that there will be a collision with the vehicle ahead (speed difference and no or little braking action by the driver), the vehicle makes an automatic brake application that reduces the speed by a maximum of 20 km/h, to reduce the consequences of the impact. Park Assist Helps drivers fit into almost any parking space. It provides automatic assistance when manoeuvring into a spot in a parking bay or reversing into or out of a parallel spot on the road. In essence - this car can park itself.

The new EMP2 platform, new materials, new generation engines, and large weight saving combine to deliver CO 2 emissions and fuel consumption figures that are some of the best in the segment. Overall the all-new 308 weighs 140kg less than the previous generation with 70kg savings from the EMP2 platform and a further 70kg saved through lighter materials, new components and improved assembly processes.
