The HP OMEN Spacer is a keyboard designed in the United States of America for gamers. Unlike productivity users, gamers turn the keyboard at a 45 degree angle to their body to be more ergonomically inline with the arm as it extends from the elbow of their left hand. The HP Omen Spacer was developed to provide a more comfortable and functional option for these users.

  • The OMEN Spacer keyboard is the result of human factors testing. The 3 degree angle of incline from top row to bottom row of keys was tested, the width and use by gamers at 45 degrees was tested, and even the curvature of the top of the key caps was tested. In addition to these carefully made choices, HP Designers included a PU leather palm-rest padded with memory foam, which attaches to the keyboard with magnets. The keys are backlit with white LEDs, except for the WASD keys and arrow keys, which are lit in red.

  • The HP OMEN Spacer uses Cherry MX brown keys, for keys with a positive haptic feel and 1ms response time. Gamers need the positive feedback of a mechanical key switch, but can't accept latency or lag. Removing the numberpad and using these key switches results in a keyboard that is space-saving, with an incredibly fast response time. Keeping the desk clear is important, so that the right hand can use the mouse.

  • The HP OMEN Spacer can be used wired or wirelessly. When wired, the connector is right-angled so that the cable follows the back edge of the keyboard, making cable management easy. Wirelessly, it uses 2.4GHz for low latency.
