  • The aim of the network was to enhance cross-sector collaboration and innovation so businesses can better align to effectively deliver strategies for national and global goals for nature. The challenge was to design a digital platform that balanced authority with accessibility, translating policy into clear, actionable guidance for a diverse audience. Working within GovCMS constraints, the team needed to move beyond standard templates while maintaining government compliance. The platform also had to support multiple user types, and enable scalable growth as the initiative evolved. Designing clarity, credibility and engagement from an undefined starting point was central to the brief.

  • Jude approached the project from first principles, shaping both the digital experience and how the “nature positive” concept could be understood and applied. Through close collaboration with stakeholders, the team developed a clear information architecture that guides users from awareness to action. A flexible design system was created within GovCMS, extending beyond CivicTheme to deliver a distinctive and scalable experience. Key pathways, including the Knowledge Hub and Resource Centre, were designed to support capability building and practical engagement. Iterative design and testing ensured the platform balanced policy accuracy with usability, resulting in a solution that is both authoritative and accessible.

  • The Nature Positive Matters platform supports the growth of the national network and increased awareness of how businesses can transition from nature-positive intent to action. In October 2025, an Events section was launched, enabling promotion of a flagship event that brought together over 100 business leaders to share practical insights on building internal cases for nature-related action. The platform strengthens credibility through real-world case studies that show how organisations are driving the nature agenda. By making complex information actionable, it supports better decision-making and aims to drive long-term investment in nature, contributing to environmental, social and economic outcomes at scale.

  • The platform is defined by a number of key design features that support clarity, engagement and scalability. A modular design system extends the GovCMS CivicTheme, enabling a flexible and distinctive visual language while maintaining accessibility and compliance standards. The information architecture is structured around progressive engagement, allowing users to enter at different levels of understanding and move seamlessly towards action. Dedicated pathways such as the Knowledge Hub and its guided process provide curated access to tools and insights whilst the Events section provides more direct engagement. Together these features transform the platform from an informational website into a capability-building resource. Clear calls to action, including joining the network and exploring case studies, are embedded throughout the experience to encourage participation. Real-world case studies play a critical role in demonstrating practical application, building trust and supporting transparency. The platform is also designed for future growth. Flexible content structures and reusable components allow for ongoing expansion as the initiative evolves, ensuring long-term relevance. Together, these features create a user-centred, scalable and impactful digital platform that supports meaningful engagement with a complex and emerging sustainability agenda.
