With its latest WMV 960 WPS flagship model, Miele has launched an unprecedented combination of water- and energy efficiency, cleaning performance and user convenience.
At its world premiere in Germany, the WMV 960 WPS was announced as 'surely the best washing machine of all times'. And, indeed, this latest Miele washing machine boasts a number of revolutionary innovations which makes it stand peerless in the marketplace.
This latest model, referred to internally as the “W 1 Prestige”, represents the pinnacle of more than 115 years Miele experience in the design and manufacture of washing machines in Germany. Its advanced technology has successfully been integrated in a timeless, streamlined design.
This latest Miele model is the modern interpretation of the quintessential Miele washing machine. The machine is simpler than ever before to operate thanks to a new user interface concept. Thanks to its Touchtronic display, is has no conventional buttons or dials. The slightly slanted fascia panel allows for very ergonomic operation.
The machine contains a high level of advanced innovation and intelligent technology employed inside. Particular attention was paid to the use of high-quality materials and the detail and workmanship of all visible elements .
The machine is suitable for a very wide range of loads, including woollens, silks, pillows, duvets and curtains.
A special “Stains” option is available for up to 23 different types of stains, which will adjust the wash programme accordingly.
The “SteamCare” function will smoothen the textiles gently at the end of the programme. This will reduce the need for ironing by up to 50%, with some textiles not even requiring any ironing.
The Miele “Wash Assistant” function is ideal when being in doubt about which programme to use: by simply entering the type of textile, degree of soiling, colour and desired spin result, the electronic will automatically establish the most suitable programme.
The WMV 960 WPS features a complex combination of safety features, which will effectively protect the user from potential harm. These include an electronic safety lock, which will prevent the user from coming in contact with hot water or a moving drum whilst the programme is in use, as well as a programmable PIN code, which will prevent unauthorized use.
The Miele WaterProof System consists of a double solenoid valve directly at the stopcock, intelligent sensor technology and a sheathed inlet hose. Provided installation of the machine has been carried out correctly, Miele offers a guarantee for all subsequent damages, should they occur as a result of a faulty WaterProof System - over a period of 20 years.
Made by Miele in Germany, the machine is designed and tested for a useful product life of 20 years under normal household use.
Examples for the high-quality and durable components used by Miele include the stainless steel suds container, the cast iron counterweight and the fully enameled front of the machine.
The fact that Miele products are used longer in the home than other brands before being resold or disposed of was validated in a 2006 study performed by the German consumer research organization GfK: according to this study, new Miele appliances remained in use after their initial purchase for an average of 17.0 years, whilst the average useful life of other brands was only 13.7 years.
Given its superior technology, long life expectancy and diverse range of applications, the initial investment in a Miele WMV 960 WPS washing machine does represent outstanding value for money in the long term.
Its unique combination of innovative features puts the spotlight on Miele's expertise in the design and manufacture of technologically advanced laundry systems and is poised to contribute to the continued, sustainable growth of the category.
Given that the WMV 960 WPS shares many of its basic mechanical components with the entire latest 'W 1' series of Miele washing machines sold globally, the company is very confident of achieving a positive return on the investment.
The latest model sports the following key innovations:
The integrated TwinDos liquid detergent system dispenses its two components at the correct time during the wash process. Miele UltraPhase 1 and 2 are stored and dispensed separately, making it possible to add oxygenated bleach to the system.
The PowerWash system comprises “Intensive Flow” and “QuickPowerWash”. “Intensive Flow” ensures that the efficiency of the detergent is fully utilized and the wash performance considerably increased. “QuickPowerWash” achieves thorough cleanliness in less than 1 hour.
Portioned Miele capsules can be placed into the fabric conditioner compartment for special applications such as Sport, Down, WoolCare and Silk.
