  • Search & Rescue demands reliability. Responders are faced with situations where a tool’s failure could risk lives, and worn-our components could delay a vital operation. The knife is an essential part of any kit - employed to cut through harnesses, rope and pry obstructions. However, Search and Rescue teams are rarely given purpose-built blades, and are instead issued off-the-shelf dive knives. This compromise is the foundation of the K.220 - to develop a knife that fulfils the need for everyday rescue use, while exceeding the ergonomics, deployment and durability of what they’ve become familiar with.

  • The K.220 is optimised for a multi-purpose role, with a twin-edge design that employs both a full-length serrated saw and edged blade. The tip behaves like a chisel, which doubles as both a safety feature (preventing accidental punctures) and a prybar. The full-tang blade is sandwiched between two high-grip, laminate handles for optimal ergonomics, and their hi-visibility finish make them easily identifiable when in use. The knife is held securely in our Twist-Lock sheath; a patent pending design that avoids the mechanical complexity of a traditional button lock, and enables an secure inverted carry - essential for all rescue personnel.

  • The K.220 is designed to seamlessly integrate with the gear currently worn by Search and Rescue personnel. The Twist-Lock sheath offers a level of safety and reliability commercial dive knives don’t offer, and with a simple twist of the wrist the knife can be easily removed and re-sheathed - allowing it to be used with any type of glove. The sheath’s unique clip is also compatible with floatation vests already in use by Responders. The ambidextrous, serrated-and-plain blade design is ideal for the varied work these knives perform, and the ergonomic, high-visibility handle make controlling the blade much easier under stress.

  • The K.220 is completely designed around the Search & Rescue Responder’s experience. The sheath can be mounted anywhere on their kit, from a shoulder lash tab to a PALS/MOLLE system, ensuring the user is always comfortable deploying their knife. It’s waterproof construction with integrated drainage guides/holes make it ideal for use in any condition, and the lack of mechanical components prevents component failure. The twist-lock mechanism is both extremely secure and deliberately easy to open - even with thick gloves. A simple twist of the wrist enables the knife to be removed in one motion. To re-sheath, the user simply pushes the knife into the sheath and can hear an audible ’click’ when it locks into position. The K.220 is safer, easier to carry and more versatile than any Search & Rescue tool on the market today.
