IZEP – an Intelligent Zero Emissions Pump – is an integration of cutting edge components, new hydraulic design and proprietary system intelligence to halve the energy required for the transfer of water compared to existing designs. Being natively solar-powered, grid emissions and running costs are eliminated.

  • Water pumps are the second-most sold machine in the world, behind electric motors. Conventional design of small sized pumps has not changed significantly since the 1970’s - when energy was cheap and the environmental costs of excess energy consumption weren’t recognized. In Australia, swimming pool pumps alone consume 2-3% of total grid energy. For households with a pool, pumps represent on average 15-20% of total household energy bills. The design challenge is to rethink pump design - both hydraulically and electrically - to provide an intelligent, renewably-powered pump that at least matches existing products’ performance, while eliminating running costs and grid emissions.

  • Izep can match conventional, single-phased AC powered pump hydraulic performance powered by a single solar panel. It has zero running costs, and zero carbon emissions. Izep combines: -An innovative approach to hydraulic design and motor heat dissipation. -The latest, high efficiency, brushless DC motor technology and control. -Unique integration of motor and hydraulic end. -Custom electronic control to enhance pump efficiency, pump protection and longevity -Advances in Solar Panel efficiency - Izep has undergone 5 years extensive R&D, including rapid prototyping using 3D printing of components, and a specific end-goal of simple assembly to enable cost-effective Australian manufacture.

  • Izep can replace all single-phase electric water pumps globally, which benefits society and the environment. Societal: - Removing significant power consumption from a power grid with rapidly expanding demand. - Eliminating running costs of water pumps by replacing grid power with 100% renewable. Environmental: - Removing 100% of carbon emissions from water pumping applications. - Less Waste from quality componentry, serviceable design ethos, and extended lifetime of operation. Commercial: - A startup up Australian business targeting the global market - A slice: There are over 30 million pools globally, with pumps requiring replacement on average every 5-10 years. That’s up to 6 million pool pumps annually.

  • Design fundamentals - Modular design platform extends across 18 models - same assembly process, same core components, same control and features. - The design platform allows extension of a single product into multiple applications, including fountains, sump dewatering, swim jets and underwater propulsion. Ultra-High efficiency - Paired with a Single Solar Panel has pumped in testing over 250,000 litres in a day. - Paired with a small (car sized, 65 amp hour hour) battery the system can operate 24x7, and in testing over 400,000 Litres in 24 hours. Key features to the Pool Industry - Electrically ”Intrinsically Safe” to AS3000 (unique to the world) means it can be installed in the swimzone of a pool, eliminating need for ugly pool sheds and reducing the land space required for a pool installation - Near Silent operation - imperceptible installed underground, underwater. - Additionally, an eco-system of complementary, high efficiency DC powered can run a complete, renewably powered water filtration and treatment system using just 2 Solar panels and a battery. Mobile - Self-contained power supply equals incredible mobility / remote operation possible with zero power infrastructure works required. Scalable - IZEP can be combined in series (greater flow) and parallel (higher pressure) for larger sized / commercial applications
