  • Building on the success of the HP Reverb VR Headset, HP Design was tasked to evolve and refine the headset experience to add value to the HP VR product portfolio. As the nascent VR market is rapidly evolving, our customers demand the highest quality experience at an affordable price. The design team wanted to make sure the HP product line was at the forefront of this competitive market. With specific focus on enhanced optics, immersive sound, and ease-of-use for our enterprise and consumer users, we aimed for the next level of immersion and comfort for longer use time in VR.

  • The HP Design team focused on a variety of attributes, including: • Crisper design language that is both evolutionary and brand-driven • Enhanced off ear audio • InterPupillary Distance (IPD) adjustment, a commonly requested feature • Magnetic face mask for easy removal and cleaning in shared environments • Improved cable clip and cable routing • A single, round cable for lighter weight and improved flexibility • An additional pair of side tracking cameras (for a total of 4 tracking cameras) to improve the range of controller use Additionally, human factors engineering helped create the best and widest possible fit to the human head, for widespread user acceptance.

  • The market for enterprise and consumer VR is young, but growing rapidly. With competitors vying for top spots using various extremes in component selection or by releasing de-featured, less-quality headsets for mass consumption, it was important for HP to strike the balance of best-in-class quality at an affordable price. And as society adjusts to emerging realities like working from home, social distancing, and video-conferencing instead of in-person business meetings, the Reverb G2 is set to advance the emergence of social VR, collaborative online working, and immersive new content creation for the future.

  • The HP Reverb G2 features: Mura-free (no cloudiness on the pixels), 2160 x 2160 pixel LCD panels per eye and full RGB color stripe. At 9.3 million pixels, get 2.5x more pixels than the competition InterPupillary Distance (IPD) adjustment allows you to adapt the width of the lenses for different eye distances, giving the perfect fit for each user Increased cushioning on the face mask allows for even weight distribution. Flex material and magnetic detachability provide a custom fit, no matter your face shape or size Offset speakers sit off the ear by 10mm, allowing immersive sound without discomfort of improper ear cushion sizes Connecting directly to the headset, the new and improve 6 meter cable is thinner, lighter and longer than ever, allowing for even more room to move freely 4 cameras track a greater range of motion during VR immersion New, ergonomic controller handles are more comfortable to grasp and fit a wider range of hand sizes Compatibility with Windows Mixed Reality and Steam VR, two of the worlds largest content providers, ensures that Reverb G2 uses have a rich world of content to choose from, for work or play
