Renowned for its reliability and unwavering consistency, the HighPlex streamlines Multiplex Polymerase Chain Reaction (MT-PCR), empowering the detection of up to 40 target genes within a swift timeframe of less than 3.5 hours for 24 samples.

  • Recently redesigned, the HighPlex was reimagined to align with AusDiagnostics’ new design language, with the primary goal of enhancing the product’s value proposition without compromising its key functional attributes. Solutions were implemented to reduce manufacturing costs and optimize the manufacturing, assembly, calibration, and maintenance processes while creating a platform that would enable future growth through customisation and white labelling. Further challenges outlined in the brief included ensuring the machine’s footprint would not increase, minimizing wastage, improving the machine’s visibility, reducing the number of parts, and increasing the overall accuracy of the product.

  • Three concepts were initially presented, with unique selling points, product styling, cost modelling, & manufacturing strategy, capturing all viable opportunities & ensuring the HighPlex set the standard & tone for AusDx’s new design language. The selected concept reduces manufacturing cost by 24%, overall number of parts by 95% & time of assembly & calibration by 163% without compromising functionality. All whilst becoming an eye-catching device, easily recognised under AusDiagnostics. The design can also be white labelled & adapted to different product lines through customisation of different finishes, colours & branding. Sustainability measures have also been implemented to achieve reduced wastage.

  • The redesigned HighPlex provides AusDx with an opportunity to leverage and expand existing market share with this new entry-level product, which can be sold under the AusDx brand or easily reconfigured and white-labelled to capture an even bigger market share. Making products like the HighPlex more affordable, reliable, and available will reduce the time, cost, and complexity of gaining access to the latest, most comprehensive, and accurate diagnostic PCR test results from a single sample in rural, regional, and city healthcare hubs. This enables healthcare professionals to make informed decisions faster, resulting in faster diagnostics, treatment, and positive patient outcomes.
