Hager Make the switch program

We revisited the traditional Australian switch, breaking away from the archetype of rounded corners, a certain thickness and sturdiness offered by everyone. We aimed at creating two lines with a common feel whilst having different personalities - one welcomed in every home and one with a much more architectural approach.

We opted for a clear and clean design with a notion of extreme restraint by removing what is not necessary. Our choice of combining opaque material and translucent material brings lightness, creates a shadow, some magic and poetic feel. We reinterpreted the standard "rocker", now more toned and precise for both allure and finesse. We moved to a rocker precisely adjusted with a "V" shape as a signature. The difference is substantial, from a 20-30 year old product to a present-day product.

We went further than changing aesthetics. Finer details make our products faster to install (built-in levels, pre-installed screws), simpler to handle (allure and finesse share common mechanisms & engines - less stock required), and safer (IP2x, no push-in of mechanisms into wall). Hager is committed to making our environmental footprint neutral with compliance to the European RoHS Directive optimizing the use of energies and resources, avoiding hazardous substances, and limiting emissions and waste. The program anticipates future technology evolution with an adaptive platform that integrates new functions such as USB-C, HDMI, automation and more.

The refined translucent sides that surround allure and finesse, accentuates their elegant profiles - from only 4mm to 9mm off the walls surface, creating a unique floating effect. The precise mix of materials, opaque and translucent, creates a shadow on the back that contributes to the poetic lightness of the products. "allure" while using extremely simple lines preserves every visual code necessary to celebrate Australian habits. allure can be easily welcomed in all Australian interiors because it combines tradition and novelty. It is not a provocative product. Not at the expense of functionality: it fits perfectly to the wall, is fast to install and has no dust nest. "finesse" is clearly architecturally inspired to seduce audience with its minimalistic and precise design, an ingenious simplicity. We are not in the Australian archetypes and standards anymore with a product not thick or not invasive. It brings nobility, grace and class.
