  • For the average person, basic everyday tasks like boiling a kettle for a cup of tea can be done with ease. However, for individuals that find it difficult because of mild disabilities such as reduced eyesight, hearing, arthritis, impaired motor skills and reduced mental abilities, this is not the case. For these individuals, existing kettles are not easy to lift and control, therefore providing a kettle that stays on its base but allows locating, directing and pouring into a cup without lifting addresses these problems, while also considering an inclusive design that can be used by one and all.

  • The Gilia Kettle is a complete, inclusive boiling solution that encompasses revolutionary, functional features that can be used by individuals of all abilities. Visual temperature indication before, during and after boiling, along with audible cues makes it instantly identifiable that it is ready to pour. Combined with a pour pad with cup locations, the Gilia Kettle indicates via sensory pour positioning where to pour by simply tilting the kettle within its cradle, offering greater control.

  • The Gilia Kettle, with its world-first revolutionary features, significantly enhances independence and quality of life for individuals of all kinds of abilities. It provides a safer, more controlled use promoting dignity, independence and well-being in the home environment. Along with other inclusive qualities the styling of the Gilia Kettle conforms with contemporary modern design and significantly enhances the kitchen environment. The Gilia Kettle represents a user-centric solution that is already influencing local and global markets, with exclusive contracts signed in Australia and New Zealand and others being negotiated around the world, with patents filed in 47 countries.

  • The Gilia Kettle sets a new benchmark in inclusive design through its carefully considered features, providing enhanced safety, independence, and accessibility for individuals of all abilities. The kettle features a cradle base providing its tilt-and-pour functionality, removing the need to lift a kettle for pouring. A wide-opening lid with a clear viewing window, removable filter, and soft close lid mechanism support easy filling and cleaning. The handle is ergonomically designed with a world’s first thumb grip for improved hand control and positioning while pouring. Tactile arrows located on the non-slip silicone pour pad and cradle help users position the unit in the desired orientation, along with water level indicators on both sides of the kettle, for left or right-handed pouring. To support users with hearing impairments, the Gilia Kettle utilises LED colour indication that changes during the boiling cycle: blue as boiling begins, transitioning to purple throughout heating, and red once complete. The kettle also chimes once boiled for users with visual impairments and features precise temperature control settings (70°, 80°, 90°, and 100°C). Constructed from high-grade stainless steel and BPA-free materials, the Gilia Kettle combines durability, safety, and elegant design, making it truly inclusive for all users.
