DUTOIT boards, platters & stands are designed to nest and stack, intended for large gatherings or everyday meals, and anything in between. Hand-finished and made in Melbourne, from commercial timber manufacturing surplus, the limited edition’s first production run contains up to 50% recycled content.

  • The challenge was to create a versatile range of boards, platters & stands that are not only functional and aesthetically pleasing but also sustainable. The design needed to use FSC-certified and repurposed timber while incorporating innovative details that make the collection easy to handle and enhance its appearance.

  • DUTOIT boards, platters & stands met the challenge by utilising timber from commercial timber manufacturing surplus and incorporating signature details that make the collection easy to handle while giving the impression each piece is gently floating. The collection was designed to be versatile, perfect for large gatherings or everyday use, and can be stacked and nested for easy storage.

  • DUTOIT boards, platters & stands have a positive impact on the environment by using up to 50% recycled timber in the limited edition first production run.

  • DUTOIT boards, platters & stands are hand-finished in Melbourne and made from commercial manufacturing surplus, making the collection sustainable and environmentally friendly. The collection features a signature shadow-line detail at the base of the boards, making them easy to handle while giving the impression they’re gently floating. The timber platters are slightly raised on solid timber feet, allowing them to hover gracefully above the boards. The stands are raised even higher, allowing them to stand beautifully above the platters and boards. The collection is designed to be versatile, perfect for large gatherings or everyday use, and can be stacked and nested for easy storage. The collection is a great example of good product and industrial design, as it inspires positive change and drives greater demand for professional design. Overall, DUTOIT boards, platters & stands offer a unique, imaginative, and innovative design that sets a new benchmark for sustainability and versatility in product and industrial design practice.
