  • To meet Australia’s National Construction Code, the average new apartment uses 30 lineal metres of rigid duct to mechanically ventilate 2 bathrooms, a laundry, and kitchen. Rigid PVC and metal ducts are bulky, long and heavy. They are inefficient to store, transport to building sites, handle and install. Rigid PVC is also non-biodegradable, releases toxic chemicals and consumes high levels of energy during production. Flexible ducts are lightweight but easily squashed or torn in tight ceiling spaces, compromising HVAC system performance. The NCC allows only 6 metres of flexible duct in a ventilation system, making it unsuitable for many settings.

  • Coreduct™ is a space-saving, low-profile rigid duct system for domestic and commercial ventilation systems. Expella has leveraged years of experience installing mechanical ventilation in high density developments to create Coreduct™. The lightweight modular system is specially designed to be quick to install and easy to handle on a building site and in transit. The duct, joiners, brackets and T junctions are delivered in convenient flat pack form reducing bulk. These lightweight parts simply pop up and fit with Coreduct™ bends and adaptors. Once assembled Coreduct™ is completely rigid, removing the risk of squashed duct and under-performing air handling systems.

  • Coreduct™ is set to positively impact the HVAC industry with its commercial and environmental benefits. Manufactured in Australia, Coreduct™ lengths come in a flatpack design that is easy to pop-up, quickly transforming into a hollow volume. Lengths are made from fire retardant polypropylene – lightweight, durable, 100% recyclable, and more eco-friendly than PVC. Coreduct™ is 70% lighter and has 77% less volume before assembly compared to PVC ducts, enhancing cost and time efficiencies in storage, transport, and handling. Its rigid low profile ensures an air channelling system unaffected by other ceiling services, leading to higher performing mechanical ventilation and healthier buildings.

  • •Coreduct™ is a modular rigid duct system with a variety of joiner and junction fittings, offering ease and flexibility when designing and installing effective air handling systems. •Coreduct™ has a low profile design that leaves more room for other building services when ceiling spaces are tight. •Suitable for domestic and commercial mechanical ventilation systems. •Duct, joiners, brackets and T junctions are all delivered in convenient flat pack form for easy site handling and more efficient storage and transport. The lightweight parts simply pop up and fit with other Coreduct™ components. •Components include specially designed adjustable height fixing brackets that fit around the duct and fix to the building structure. •Coreduct™ is rigid and sturdy once assembled, lowering the risk of torn or squashed duct and under-performing air handling systems. •Duct lengths are made from fire retardant polypropylene – a durable, light weight material that is easy to cut by hand on site making installation more efficient. •An excellent alternative to PVC and metal duct. Coreduct™ is approximately 70% lighter and has approximately 70% less volume than the equivalent PVC duct profile. •Patented design by Expella, manufactured in Australia (Australian Patent Application 2023203426)
