  • MORE
  • Our goal was to deliver the smallest and most discreet off-the-ear sound processor ever, while incorporating technologies to simplify and enhance the experience of cochlear implant recipients. The brief required the team to balance a range of inputs: - deliver the smallest and lightest rechargeable off-the-ear sound processor, with enough battery capacity for a full day of hearing for most cochlear implant recipients - Including a rechargeable battery, capable of wireless charging, in close proximity to sound processor electronics - Delivering IP68 ingress protection without the need for accessories - Implementing our ForwardFocus noise reduction algorithm on an off-the-ear device

  • The Kanso 2 Sound Processor is the world's smallest and lightest rechargeable off-the-ear sound processor. It's designed to be easy to use and to seamlessly integrate into life with a simple button-free design with tap control and automatic on/off. The integrated rechargeable battery provides up to 18 hours use, and charges wirelessly using inductive charging. Recipients can directly stream calls, music and entertainment from a compatible smartphone, and the Nucleus Smart App provides easy control of device settings and information. Recipients can enjoy their favourite activities in and around water with the highest available dust and water resistance rating.

  • With direct smartphone connectivity, recipients can stay connected with loved ones via phone and video calls. This has been critically important during the global pandemic. The off-the-ear form factor has allowed recipients to wear their device and mask at the same time. Remote Check, a feature within the app, is a convenient, at-home testing tool that allows recipients to complete a hearing review, without having to travel to the clinic. The design (and associated investment) was a key factor in ensuring that it appeals to our customers. Rechargeable batteries eliminate changing the battery daily, with cost and environmental benefits.

  • Featuring our most advanced technology, Kanso 2 helps recipients focus on what's important and experience clearer sound, even in challenging environments. SmartSound iQ® with SCAN technology automatically analyses the surroundings and adjusts to optimise hearing performance. And the ForwardFocus feature reduces noise coming from behind, so they can more easily enjoy face-to-face conversation. Two microphones work together to filter out background noise and provide better hearing performance in noise than a single microphone. Direct smartphone connectivity helps recipients connect to the people they love and the world they live in. They can stream calls, music and entertainment directly from a compatible Apple or Android device. They can also adjust settings, set personalised hearing goals, wirelessly monitor a loved one's device microphones, and even get help locating a misplaced sound processor with the Nucleus Smart App. A new 'Sound Check' feature enables recipients and carers to monitor the sound quality of microphone input and share with others if needed. A new all-in-one Home Charger uses inductive technology to charge while drying at the same time. An optional Portable Charger enables easy charging of Kanso 2 while it is in use, providing recipients with access to sound while charging on the go.
