Clipsal MAX9 PRO Distribution Board

This project aims to design an electrical distribution board system tailored for light commercial buildings. It addresses the gap between residential systems, which are too light-duty, and commercial/industrial systems, which are over-engineered for this purpose. The design challenge was to create a balanced solution with a compact footprint, high current requirements and achieve higher installation efficiencies.

The MAX9 PRO distribution board includes a modular chassis design featuring an intuitive fishbone busbar distribution. The slim air vents integrated in our signature pattern improve heat dissipation without compromising safety. This enables increased performance of up to 250A. New phase & neutral distributed chassis enables increased installation speed (up to four times faster) compared to traditional distribution boards. This approach also eliminates the need for neutral flying leads on circuit protection devices, contributing to a more compact volume. This new architecture was validated through a wiring exercise confirming its efficiency and effectiveness compared to the competition products.

Through a collaborative approach between the Design team and technical teams early on in the project, the product was designed inside out - providing an easy-to-understand and time saving installation experience for the electrician. The enclosure was built around this architecture in a clean, neutral, friendly format which fits in seamlessly in light commercial and residential environments.
