The PYXIS 6K is an ultra-portable, highly versatile solution for a vast range of production scenarios. Its cubic form factor and tactical visual narrative are underpinned by a modular external chassis, precision CNC machined from aircraft grade aluminium. This uncompromising structural enclosure safeguards critical internal components, while simultaneously acting as a rigid mounting surface for various rigging setups, and an accurate datum for the finely toleranced full frame 6K image sensor. Through this modular architecture, additional features and future variant models can be easily and quickly produced to keep pace with technology developments or to respond to specific workflow demands.

Blackmagic PYXIS 6K creates efficient H.264 proxy files in addition to original camera data while recording. This enables files to be uploaded to Blackmagic Cloud and directly into DaVinci Resolve at a remote studio in real-time, even as editors are working on it. This has never before been possible. Featuring the same generation 5 Blackmagic colour science found in URSA Cine, PYXIS 6K delivers stunningly accurate skin tones and faithful colour reproduction. The colour science also handles the sophisticated Blackmagic RAW image processing, ensuring colour and dynamic range information is preserved via metadata for post-production.
