  • CHALLENGE

  • IMPACT
  • The predominance of streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+, who now host audiences in excess of 200 million worldwide, continues to drive expansion of cinematic experiences outside the movie theatre and into the comfort and convenience of living rooms and mobile devices. Keeping pace with this growing demand for content means that filmmakers and TV producers must face increasingly aggressive deadlines. Traditional production methods, in which shooting, editing, colour grading and audio mixing occur in sequential order, are now too slow and becoming outdated. A new solution was required to facilitate a more fluid creative process.

  • The ultra-compact DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel untethers Hollywood quality colour grading from the fixed studio environment. Connected to an iPad via Bluetooth and powered by an integrated battery, users have dynamic, direct control over multiple parameters simultaneously, allowing them to work faster in the most challenging of situations. Through Blackmagic Cloud, proxy files from Blackmagic cameras can be edited and graded the instant they are captured. This allows directors to make artistic decisions immediately on set, informing subsequent shots to culminate in a more collaborative, non-linear creative process and optimised production efficiency.

  • The DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel is an empathetic response to the way in which modern cinematic content is being created. Informed by industry experts and exhaustive anthropomorphic study, it makes colour correction objectively faster, streamlining a process that often requires hundreds of individual shots to be graded. This focus on efficiency is resonating with Hollywood, who’s finest post-production teams are leveraging Resolve to grade Oscar nominated blockbusters like Oppenheimer, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
