Design Brief Develop a product that supports the evolution of workplace design, as increasingly flexible and holistic spaces are being created. Create a new product type with maximum modularity, and use the aesthetic, proportions, quality and functionality of the product to address the following challenges: - Provide flexibility to interior designers as they conceptualise innovative workplaces - Provide a timeless and sophisticated aesthetic that can be used throughout a project - Enable the creation of functional spaces that encourage users to work in flexible and diverse ways - Support creativity, productivity and wellbeing

The studio developed Avion to extend the modularity, functionality and aesthetic of the existing category of modular workplace furniture. The collection was designed to introduce a soft, elegant language into commercial settings, creating a more comfortable and inspiring environment to work within. The studio collaborated with many different manufacturers, combining a large number of technologies and processes to produce a unique and specialised outcome. In this process, the studio designed all elements of the Avion collection in their entirety, including all structural design elements, associated tooling, creating all files to drive technologies during the manufacturing process.

The highly considered proportions and ergonomics of this collection, paired with its true modularity, offers a more resolved and cost-effective solution to creating custom interior spaces than one-off installations. This results in the ability to provide functional and nurturing work environments, having proven benefits in terms of creativity, productivity, health and wellbeing. Avion introduces a soft, elegant language into commercial settings, creating a more comfortable and inspiring environment to work within. This collection elevates the aesthetic, function and quality of Australian designed and manufactured furniture, improving the performance of all businesses involved in producing and selling this product.

The innovative wall system that is the core of the Avion collection enables the integration of contrasting functions. It allows these to co-exist in close proximity, providing excellent visual and acoustic separation, using common walls and nodes between spaces. Avion is an extensive collection encompassing many types of environments for the workplace. This soft architectural system of modular wall, seating and table elements comprises: - Desking - 2, 4 and 6 person meeting rooms - Individual work pods - Integrated lounging - Integrated lighting, power, charging, tv mounting capabilities - Custom designed Wall and table lights, and Brass or Black anodised aluminium coat hooks in the same visual language - The wall system is available in both high and low options - Complimentary freestanding collection of lounging, ottomans, screens and tables Avion uniquely brings elements of the luxurious and nurturing qualities of high-end residential furniture into commercial and workplace environments, and pairs this with highly considered functionality. The project demonstrates industrial design practise at its highest level, dealing holistically with all aspects of design, development and communication.
