  • ataraxyBSC was founded by Robin Macan. A casual bike rider who enjoys riding but not the pain of it, he questioned how a more comfortable bike seat could be designed. In 2016, Robin began workshopping a new approach that he believed could forever change the cycling experience. The theory was to develop a design to support each leg, rather than the current saddle which puts pressure on the sit bones and often leaves riders, particularly those more infrequent or casual ones, in pain. This creates a barrier that prevents some people from riding bikes regularly or even at all.

  • The vabsRider brings an entirely new concept to the bicycle seat industry, with an innovative split-seat layout, designed to provide support across the rider’s gluteal muscles. Removing pressure off the sit bones, to eliminate pain and discomfort. Taking a first principles approach, the fundamentals of human movement have been analysed and translated into a ground-breaking design - A bicycle seat that moves naturally with your body. As the leg pushes down, the saddle moves with it. The result is a smooth ride that allows for maximum comfort, and no pain in the sit bones, even when riding for long distances.

  • vabsRider’s superior ride comfort has created an opportunity for people to start riding, ride more, ride further, or ride as far as their e-bike battery will take them. vabsRider broadens the reach of people riding bicycles, appealing to all ages, genders, fitness levels, experiences and bicycle types. We believe encouraging people to ride by making the experience more accessible has great benefit to our society, our health and our environment. As a startup, ataraxyBSC is proud to have dedicated 8 years to developing the vabsRider from idea to first production release. And now, the commercial opportunities ahead are truly exciting!

  • ataraxyBSC has developed the world’s first Virtual Axis bicycle seat (VAbs). The seat’s design rotates around a virtual axis that exists across the rider’s pelvis connecting their hip joints. The seat is named the vabsRider due to this revolutionary ergonomic design feature. The vabsRider harnesses dynamic movement, allowing the seat to be in motion, following the changing position of the rider’s lower body when cycling. The seat glides along a curved track utilising a simple and effective bearing design. The vabsRider is highly customisable with angle, width, depth and height adjustments built into the design to achieve optimum ride comfort. This ensures the seat is accessible to a large proportion of riders. The seat padding is removable and can be customised to suit. The atarayBSC team recommend a fitting session to get you in the right configuration. The split-seat design increases the rider’s contact points from 5 to 6. Offering improved stability and balance. The vabsRider can be fitted to any existing bike frame. However, ataraxyBSC has identified the key market of e-bikes for the initial launch. The first generation vabsRider is focussed on safety, strength and durability, not on achieving racing weight specifications. ataraxyBSC’s vabsRider is Patent Pending worldwide.
