Through Alto®, Kaebel Leisure set out to bridge the gap between playground structure styles. Until recently, playground products have been largely split into three categories – traditional post & platform, ‘adventure’ play, and custom playgrounds. Each of these playground types has its strengths and weaknesses, but few were able combine the best aspects and play benefits of all three.This was the aim with Alto® - to develop a playground system, based on universal design principles, that combines all the various benefits of traditional playgrounds with new ideas – making something completely unique and widely accessible.

Alto® is a modular range of playground structures which can be tailored to suit various site and user requirements. It leverages Kaebel Leisure’s past experience to push rope-based play to new heights. The foundation of the system is a central nest of steel columns and clamps which are designed to provide complete flexibility and modularisation - this allows play features to be added, removed, or adjusted to suit. Alto® aims to achieve a balance between creation of a striking playground centrepiece, and a large structure that sits lightly in its environment and blends in with its surroundings.

The greatest achievement of the Alto® range is the provision of access to play to the greatest number of end users - our children. Modular design – Alto® suits a wide range of users, environments, and budget. Play modules can be added, removed, or swapped to suit individual requirements.Universal design – allows play for all ages and abilities without compromise through a wide variety of play module systems at all levels. Rope-based equipment provides a range of benefits for cognitive, physical, and social development. Children are encouraged to use physical strength, coordination, and problem-solving skills as they manoeuvre through the different rope-based challenges. Hang out zones incorporated into the design provide much needed space for older children and teens, a demographic which is often overlooked in playground design.Visually permeable – being able to ‘see through’ the play tower means it sits lightly on its environment and allows parents and carers unobstructed oversight of their children at play.Low impact – Alto’s rope-oriented design results in play modules that use fewer materials to achieve greater play value. The use of high-quality materials and Australian manufacture means that the structure’s carbon footprint is significantly reduced relative to competitor products.
