BUILT ENVIRONMENT DESIGN JUROR
Laura is a Principal at Architectus and a strong believer in collaborative design, where she focuses on creating a built environment that is respectful, purposeful, intelligent, and beautiful for our changing communities and future.
Her work throughout her career has sought to improve the outcomes of the built environment and communities through careful engagement, synthesising needs to inspire the projects vision, define the brief and develop the design through to the delivered project, achieving design excellence and value for her clients.
Laura’s passion for the architectural profession beyond practice has seen her represent the profession as NSW Chapter President for the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA), as well as her current position as Board member of the NSW Architects Registration Board. In both roles, she advocated for the profession and promotion of architecture and its value in shaping our communities for the future.
In furthering design critique and good quality design outcomes, she has sat on Design Award Juries for the Australian Institute of Architects, Learning Environments Australasia, and Good Design Awards Australia. She is excited about the way in which practice is rising to the challenges of climate emergency, global /local material and manufacturing issues, designing for resilience and automation.
