Nila Rezaei

Nila Rezaei is an Iranian-Australian designer, educator, and advocate dedicated to using design as a catalyst for positive social and environmental change. With expertise spanning sustainable design, material innovation, and human-centred systems, her work integrates cultural storytelling with functional utility, creating meaningful connections that resonate on both emotional and practical levels.
As the co-founder of RK Collective, a female-led product design and innovation studio, Nila leads projects at the intersection of sustainability, circular economy, and inclusive community engagement. Her work is widely recognised for its depth, beauty, and impact, earning accolades from prestigious awards and being featured across national and international exhibitions, design festivals, talks and influential media platforms.
With a background that bridges commercial design and critical practice, Nila is deeply committed to mentoring emerging designers, creating platforms for dialogue, and advocating for equity in design leadership. She serves as Chair of the Design Institute of Australia’s NSW Council, is co-founder of IDX SYD (Industrial Design Xchange Sydney) community, and teaches at UNSW Art & Design, both in Bachelor and Master of Design courses.
As a Good Design Ambassador, Nila champions a future where thoughtful, courageous design not only solves problems, but uplifts communities and reimagines what’s possible for both people and planet.
