Swyftx Mobile App

This project sought to solve two challenges 1) Cryptocurrency is confusing. Most people don’t know where to start and 2) Our original mobile app launched as a ‘wrapper’ and never felt like a mobile app, leading to a fractured expectation and user experience.

In 2021, we undertook a 6-month project to rebuild the app natively, taking on all the user feedback we had gathered, and aimed to improve the user experience, navigation, reliability and scalability – all without alienating our existing users. We rebuilt the mobile app with a design-first approach, ensuring we kept all core functionality in place. Introducing native patterns allowed us to improve the discoverability and navigation, and a new and on-brand visual style provides a cleaner interface.

In the crypto market, speed to order is key. The new mobile app offers a re-imagined way of trading, allowing users to buy or sell multiple assets in one order. Users can make one-to-one, one-to-multiple or multiple-to-one trades all in one flow, avoiding the headache of going back and forth between assets and making multiple orders. Since launching in November 2021, the business has seen solid adoption and growth of the mobile app with a key result of 53% increase in in-app signups.

Swyftx is the only cryptocurrency platform in Australia that offers Demo Mode, a way for users to access up to $10k of 'fake money’ and simulate paper trades. This allows users, especially those new to our platform and/or cryptocurrency investing, to familiarise and learn how it all works – without the risk of losing their own money. We also offer fundamental features such as price alerts, favourites-list, recurring orders and bundles which allow users to either track their investments, invest faster or track the market easier.
