DESIGN RESEARCH JUROR

Shenaz Engineer is a strategic design researcher whose practice spans cultural insight, experience design, and city-shaping infrastructure projects that seek to improve and understand life in our cities. Her work explores the intersections of health, regenerative design, and technology — grounded in the belief that meaningful urban outcomes emerge when we see cities as living systems: dynamic, interdependent, and influenced by diverse forces.

Based in Brisbane and informed by a decade of work across Amsterdam, Shanghai, New York, London, Paris, and Sydney, Shenaz brings a global sensibility and a human-centred lens to what makes design meaningful. Her work often intersects with complex built environment projects, where research and strategy come together to help teams understand human needs, navigate complexity, and co-create places and experiences with the people who live them, shape them, and keep them alive.
