QUEST NINE is a high-end social club, owned by the China Wood Group. JiuCengTai, its Chinese name, literally means ‘Nine-Level Stage’, which is derived from the proverb “a nine-level stage arises from baskets of earth”. Quest Nine reflects the essence of the Chinese name, as “quest” describes the mindset of pursuing things.

Nine is strongly associated with the Chinese dragon, a symbol of power. The illustrations resemble drifting clouds and water, consistently rising, and finally transforming into a dragon, when finally elevating to the ninth level. The visuals present an aesthetic brand experience by elegantly combining cultural and industrial characteristics.


  • CHALLENGE
  • The posters are designed based on the principles of old Chinese theories: “round heaven and square earth” and “three people make a group”. Consequently, the posters present theories with three themes: heaven (circle), earth (square) and people (triangle). Moreover, the orichalceous undertone symbolizes high-end, yet in a moderate, visual tone.
