Ograte

Box graters provide stability when grating but the user tires quickly as they only grate in one direction, and they are cumbersome to store. Rasp graters are easy to store but only grate in one direction and are often a very narrow plane which makes grating large volumes a lengthy, arduous task. Rotary graters are fast but limited by the size of their hopper and difficult to clean and store. The designers set out to create an easily-cleaned grater with the speed and efficiency of a rotary grater, stability of a box grater, and compact storage of a rasp grater.

Ograte's unique bidirectional blade heads allow the user to grate on both the up and the down stroke on the top side, well as in a continuous motion on the bottom side in either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction for maximum grating efficiency. The bottom side blades are arranged in concentric circles for speed grating foods like carrots in a circuitous motion, and includes a guide rim for easy grating in either direction, while the extra-wide plane quickly grates larger foods like cheese back and forth on the top side. Ograte is dishwasher-safe and stores flat in a drawer.

No other grater on the market allows the user to grate on both the up and down stroke on the top side, but also in a continuous motion on the bottom side in either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction all while storing flat. This time and space-saving solution is easily cleaned and won't rust in the dishwasher. Ograte's non-slip TPE foot provides control while grating on flat surfaces, doubles as a scraper to scrape ingredients off a cutting board and into a pot, and also hooks on to the edge of a bowl for secure grating over a vessel when grating large volumes of food. Its unique safety cover securely snaps on to protect both sides of the photo-etched blades, protecting the user from accidental harm and the blades from damage for worry-free storage in a drawer. Available with a coarse (1/4" / 6mm) or medium grating blade (1/8" / 3mm).
