Mable’s mission is to bring people together to enable unique and inclusive lives filled with opportunity. Our design philosophy is focused on facilitating quality, long-term support connections for people with a disability and older Australians. COVID-19 caused major disruptions to support supply paired with increased demand for short notice and short-term jobs from both clients and support coordinators. Inspired by our mission, we designed a streamlined product flow to enable spontaneity and inclusivity for our customers. There was also opportunity for support workers, new to our marketplace, to find their first job quickly, while establishing relationships and work agreements.

For customers, the benefits are: • Less information required, quicker to post your job. • Clients receive job offers inclusive of rate (regular Mable jobs don’t have this bidding system). • Clients receive up to 5 offers, providing choice and balance to the support worker experience. • The service agreement is auto-generated instead of creating custom agreements. To ensure speedy responses, MLM is limited to app use for support workers, leveraging push notification functionality.

What started out as an initiative to support our community to receive consistent support during COVID-19, has become a digital product integral to delivering our mission. We’re bringing back spontaneity for older Australians and people with a disability. We’ve created opportunities for support workers new to the platform to pick up work in a timely manner, while they build ongoing relationships and agreements.
