  • MORE
  • The Leap Motion Controller is easily integrated into the existing desktop environment. Created to complement traditional computer devices rather than replace, Leap Motion provides a new experience for everyday tasks such as navigating an operating system or surfing the web, to complicated tasks such as 3-D modeling. The ability to control a computer with subtle hand and finger movements will fundamentally transform the way people interact with computers, helping people move from consumption to creation and exploration. With no need for special adapters, the Leap Motion Controller plugs into the computerÕs USB and can be used with Mac and Windows.

  • The Leap Motion Controller contains 2 camera sensors and 3 infrared LEDs. Leap Motion's software - the real magic - translates the information from the camera sensors into 3-D input. Leap Motion senses individual hand and finger movements independently, as well as items like a pen or pencil. In fact, it's significantly more sensitive than existing touch-free products and technologies. Leap Motion is accurate up to 1/100th of a millimeter, is incredibly fast - with no visible lag and can capture over 200 frames per second. This precision allows users to easily and accurately command their computers using gesture control.

  • The Leap Motion Controller reads gesture and movement from within a large interaction area. Measuring 2 feet high above the controller, 2 feet wide on each side of the controller (150° angle) and 2 feet deep on either side (120° angle), Leap Motion makes use of the open space between user and computer. With a total of 8 cubic feet of interactive, three-dimensional space, the large interaction area allows for more user freedom and results in more natural gesture control of the Leap Motion Controller.

  • The Airspace store is the best place to find apps specifically designed or optimised for the Leap Motion Controller. Airspace is a place where everyone with a Leap Motion Controller can discover, buy, download and launch Leap Motion apps. The Airspace Store features free and paid Leap Motion apps (starting at 99c) in many categories, designed for different ages and skill levels. Creative tools, games, education/learning, music and entertainment, news and weather, productivity and science are just some of the available app categories designed for use with the Leap Motion Controller.

Leap Motion technology is versatile enough to be embedded in any number of electronics and developers envision a future where it is included in everything from cars to fighter jets. Leap Motion have announced deals with ASUS and HP to bundle Leap Motion Controllers with selected computers, and are also working with HP to embed Leap Motion technology directly into some of their devices. The benefit of this advancing technology to Leap Motion users is that with more and more developments, come more ways to optimise the Leap Motion controller for everyday use.
