We know that carpet tile can’t change the world, but it can inspire those who can.

What is Human Nature? It’s more than just a connection. It’s a cycle of beautiful ideas. It inspires a belief that where we create, can affect what we create – that design should have seamless options. A skinny plank that creates new possibilities, that sustainability isn’t a choice, it’s a requirement. That when geometry fuses with nature, beautiful things happen.

It starts from the ground up, influencing the way we tinker, toy, and imagine. Leveraging the principles of Biophilia and Biomimicry to shape ideas in spaces of every size. Introducing The Human Nature Collection by Interface.

  • MORE
  • Biomimicry is an approach to innovation that seeks sustainable solutions to human challenges by emulating nature's time-tested patterns and strategies. With Human Nature, we aim to give you the same experience indoors as you would in the great outdoors because we believe that when humans and nature collaborate, that's when beautiful thinking begins. The textures and colours in Human Nature are biomimetic or in other words imitate nature. They look like pebbles, aggregate, fissured stone and grass. Equally as biomimetic is how the system of skinny planks allows its patterns to "visually move" across the floor.

  • Having a healthy and happy workforce is pivotal for the running of a successful, productive business. The World Green Building Council, in partnership with its Green Building Council network, has released a report which finds a range of factors - from air quality and lighting to views of nature interior layout - can affect workers' health, satisfaction and job performance. There is growing evidence that humans have an affinity with nature and are happiest and most productive when surrounded by natural elements. Human Nature Collection with its biophilic design that reminds us of the materials, textures and tones we find in the natural world provides this connection.

  • Nature varies in a non-predictable way. Taking cues from how nature would design a floor, Human Nature features five textured products that blend seamlessly in an organic movement that shows no hint of corners or edges of the tile. Random design also means less wastage during installation of both time and carpet as well as the advantage of being able to selectively replace individual carpet tiles at a later date if required. This results in ease of removal and recycling while at the same time minimising the need to carry extra replacement stock.

  • Human Nature Collection uses 100% recycled yarn and is also supported by Net-Works project which aims to establish a community based supply chain for discarded fishing nets helping to clean up beaches while providing impoverished coastal communities with an alternate source of income. Human Nature collection also carries the GreenRate Level A certification from Global Greentag and is eligible for 100% Green Star points from the Green Building Council of Australia.

Human Nature carpet tiles are performance driver and can withstand even the most highly trafficked interiors. Durability, long term appearance retention, superior colourfastness and stain resistance are innate; the modular backing system prevents separation, edge ravel and rippling. As with all Interface products, Human Nature comes with a 15 year warranty and carries ECS Level 4 certification from the Carpet Institute of Australia.
