  • Laptops with dual screens have been tried before, but they’ve always added a second display to the side of the primary display. They’ve been complex to make, complex to manage content on, and haven’t solved problems for the user. HP Design took a new path, moving the keyboard to the front edge of the base of the laptop, and putting a touchscreen under glass below the primary screen. HP also added keys to manage the content experience. From a human factors standpoint, the user’s eyes have a shorter distance to travel to view content on the two displays.

  • Using two displays makes gaming and live-streaming-gameplay easier. Gamers want the most performance out of their computer, and overclock the processor or graphics to do so. The second display lets users overclock without shutting down the computer. Games often have large status panels and dashboards. HP Omen 2S 15’s second screen lets gamers move dashboards to the second display so they can be fully immersed in the game. Dedicated keys make switching content between displays easy. Gamers love to live-stream to fans. The secondary display shows comments from their viewers in real-time, so they can respond while playing the game.

  • The HP OMEN 2S 15 is equipped with a 9th generation Intel Core i9 CPU and NVIDIA RTX GPU. It’s a high performance machine with long battery life, and equipped to be useful for years to come, saving the environment from premature e-waste.

  • The display is mounted in the center, between two fans. This makes space in the back of the machine for better cooling fans. They're higher efficiency, and can run slower for quieter performance. The display frame is notched down to the hinge, and the hinge is centered between the two fans. By angling the display frame down to the central hinge, it does not block ventilation. The display does not get hot, which allows it to be more efficient. Special attention was paid to active cooling, using 3-sided venting for 5-way airflow and a 12V fan module with 3-phase motor and fluid dynamic bearings. In addition to OMEN Tempest Cooling Technology, OMEN partnered with Thermal Grizzly and their Conductonaut liquid metal compound to boost thermal conductivity up to 10 times higher than thermal grease, enhancing overall performance. The glass touch panel of the display extends to the edges of the laptop. When the computer is off, it appears as one solid sheet of glass. The micro-edge bezel on the main display, and the edge to edge glass covering the secondary touchscreen make the experience as immersive as possible.
