Events and Logistics Director

Sam is responsible for managing Good Design Australia’s signature design events and logistics including the Good Design Awards Jury, Good Design Awards Ceremony and the annual Good Design Festival.

Sam has a career spanning over 15 years in events, marketing, media and project management, including Director at Premium Media, National Marketing Manager Triple J Radio, Director Jam Recordings (Good Vibrations Festival), Sales and Promotions Manager Universal Music along with production and programming roles for the Falls Music and Arts Festival and activation programming for Splendour in The Grass.

Some of his key achievements include:

Director Smooth Festival of Chocolate:

A multi-faceted, two-day food festival growing to 123 000 PAX and now entering it’s fourth year, the event takes over a The Rocks precinct including George St and the Circular Quay foreshore.

Asahi International Beverages:

Project managed Asahi’s live experience expansion into Australia, resulting in the most successful execution in South East Asia of the Asahi Extra Cold experiences.

National Marketing Manager Triple J:

With 2.2 Million weekly listeners, at age 26, Sam managed marketing, promotion, strategic partnerships and events.

Co-Founder and Director Good Vibrations Festival:

Developed a concept to national touring festival of 34,000 in its first year.

Production Management and Artist Programming Falls Festival

Various roles over a 13-year period for audiences of 70,000 attendees spanning four Australian sites.

Event Director Surfaid International Ball:

Transformed a loss-making event into the biggest profit in the organisation’s history in 2012.

Artist Liaison Manager:

East Timor Concert Tour, eight-day, five-date tour of award winning artists entertaining Australian Troops in operational theatre.
