Professor Elivio Bonollo

Emeritus Professor of Industrial Design

Prof. Elivio Bonollo BE, MEngSc, PhD (Melb), MIEAust CPEng, APEC Engineer IntPE(Aus), CEng MIET, is one of Australia’s leading industrial design educators and researchers.

He is an Emeritus Professor of Industrial Design at the University of Canberra and an active design lecturer, researcher, and PhD supervisor.

In 2012, Professor Bonollo received the Vice Chancellor’s top University Award for excellence in the supervision of higher degree by research students.

He was formerly the Foundation Professor of Industrial Design, Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Design, and a Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University of Canberra.

His previous academic appointments were at RMIT and Monash University, respectively, where he was the principal author and lead developer of the original Industrial Design degrees.

His 2016/18 book, “Product Design: A Course in First Principles” has been ranked by the international Bookauthority as one of the “Best 100 Books on Design of All Time.”
