With a foundation in Mechanical Engineering and early career experience in industrial automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence, Ian has consistently applied creative problem solving and innovation across industries. His first decade in industrial technology included roles in sales, marketing, product management, and software development, supporting manufacturing and process sectors.

Transitioning into financial services, Ian spent over 20 years leading digital transformation initiatives, where he became a pioneer of Human-Centred Design in Australia. He founded, grew, and led one of the country’s largest and most mature design practices, delivering customer-centred business outcomes and earning multiple design and innovation awards.

His career spans roles as a strategic corporate leader, Professor of Practice, and Non-Executive Director, yet he remains hands-on as a UX designer and advisor to startups. His work reflects a deep commitment to design excellence, innovation, and impact.

Ian currently provides advisory services and consults to Startups, Business, Government and Academic Institutions and remains a passionate Educator and Mentor to individuals, business leaders and startups.
